There was a nail polish article on the yahoo page today.  Can you believe that “nail polish sales were up 59% for the first 10 months of the year and it fared better than any other beauty product in these tough financial times.”  It’s so true because now there’s polishes that cost around 15-20 bucks a bottle (at Sehpora) and people like me without a job are buying them.  Also there’s all these nail accessories that people are buying too…things like Crackle top nail polishes, Konad stamping kits, nail decals, and etc.  Haha, of course these are the stuff I must have….  No wonder I don’t have much money.  Well enjoy the article!

Happy Halloween Everyone!

I wanted to get into the Halloween mood so I decided to do a quick manicure.  At first I wanted to use the blank crackle polish that’s why I used a white base coat but for some reason I ended up using the Bundle Monster plate instead.

Colors used:

  1. Basecoat – Zoya Purity (2 coats)
  2. Bundle Monster Plate – BM13
  3. Nail Art – Koand special blank polish
  4. Nail Art – Zoya Posh Mat
  5. Top coat – Sally Hansen – Clear’d for takeoff #130 (to seal in everything)

I randomly printed spider webs all over my nails.  Than I added a spider for color.  You guys like my manicure?  My sister mentioned that it would have looked better if I were to use a black base color and white for the webs…I totally agree but at the time I was planning to use the crackle nail polish.

Well Happy Halloween Everyone!  Eats lots of candy?

Happy 4th Everyone!

I’m feeling very patriotic this year.  So why not do an Independence Day mani.  For the base color I used Posh/Mat (Zoya).  To my surprise I couldn’t find much reds in my collection.  Maybe I had lent them all out… :)   Well, love this Mat color.  Application was very smooth.  And since I was planning to use some stamps I only applied one coat here.

Second step, I wanted to add some blue.  I purchased a bottle of Lagoon (SinfulColors – Nail Art Polish).  It was $1.99 at Walgreens.  It’s my first time using these kind of polishes.  They come with very thin/fine brushes so you can paint designs on your nails.  Since I don’t have steady hands I wasn’t able to draw anything too fancy.  Also no nail looked the same. Oh well…

Third step…I used a image from the BM21 Plate (from the Bundle Monster 1st Set).  And since I have red and blue already I used the Konad White special nail polish. I picked the star image here below.

And to finish it off I used the Sally Hansen Salon Clear Coat (Clear’d for takeoff).

So what do you think?  Sorry I was too lazy to clean things off.  Any some of my pictures are dark and blurry.  I have a new camera coming so hopefully I’ll be able to take better pictures.  :)

Happy 4th Everyone!  Have fun and be safe!

New polishes (Silver Glitter & Crackle)

I’ve been trying to find a stamping polish to use with my Konad and Monster bundle nail plates.  Instead of buying the Konad special polishes…I want to find something I can easily pick up at my local drugstore or malls.  I’ve noticed other bloggers out there also use other brands but unfortunately I haven’t had luck finding the brands they purchased.

So this week I picked up this silver glitter polish (Wet n Wild -  236C Silvivor).  It looked very thick and I thought I might work with my plates.  Tried it but again it didn’t show up that well.  This bottle cost me $1.99 at Walgreens.

Also lately I’ve noticed a lot of new Crackle polishes out there.  They seem so cool so I got to give that a try too.  I purchased the OPI – Black Shatter for $9.50 at Ultra Beauty.  I have to say…this polish works great.  If you’re to lazy to use the stamping plates but still want to have some design this is the perfect way to go.  It’s fast and easy.

I’ve posted some pictures…Hope you like them.

These are all the polishes I used on my nails

Sally Hansen “Back to the Fuchsia” #530 used base color and Wet n Wild -  236C Silvivor used for the stamping color.  As you can see…the polish isn’t thick or dark enough so the stamping image is very light…But still pretty.

Wet n Wild -  236C Silvivor used here.  Two coats used.  Application is very smooth.  Color is very silver and glittery.  Very nice!!

Wet n Wild -  236C Silvivor used as the base color and than OPI – Black Shatter used on top.  Isn’t the crackle effect cute!  Very easy application on both.  After nail dried I did put a clear top coat because I was afraid the black polish might chip off easily.

Four different polishes and you can do so much with all of it.  So pretty and so much fun!  Hope you enjoy this post.

Another simple nail air.  A french manicure with random white flowers.  These pictures were taken a couple days after I applied the poslish.  As you can see…some areas are chipping.  Also, sorry for the crusty looking cuticles.

What I used:

  1. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Hardener for a Basecoat 1 coat
  2. Zoya polish (color – Loretta) 2 coat
  3. Konad white polish with Fauxnad plate #BM02
  4. Poshe for a topcoat 1 coat

Sorry guys…it’s been a while since I’ve posted.  I’m not sure why but the days seems so much shorter now a days and I could never find time to send out a post.  I now have a bunch of pictures piling up waiting to be posted.  Hope you enjoy them.

I wanted something simple.  So I picked a light pink and did a simple manicure.  And to add a small touch an added a small flower to the ring fingers.

What I used:

  1. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Hardener for a Basecoat 1 coat
  2. Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polish (#160 – Shall We Dance) 2 coat
  3. Konad white polish with either a Fauxnad or Gcool plates (I’m not sure why but I can locate the image anymore so I can’t give you the exact plate number)
  4. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Hardener for a topcoat 1 coat

At the end I tried using the Sally Hansen Cuticle Treatment.  (Name: Quick Care Cuticle Treatment)  It has a very sweet smell to it.  I’m not sure if this really works because my cuticles is aways still so dry.  It’s also very oily so you can’t really do anything after you apply it onto your cuticle nail area.  I believe it cost me around $9 bucks.  Since I’m not that pleased with this product, I don’t think I’ll buy this product again.

A couple flowers in my garden bloomed yesterday, so I decided to use a flower stamp on my nails.  Aren’t the flowers pretty?

The big white flower with the red center is a Kopper King Hibiscus.  And the Pink flower is a Gladiolus.

On my nails I used…

Sally Hansen HD Laser.  They had new colors on display, so I had to get a couple.  Plus they were buy one get one 50% off.  Can’t pass that up!  I used blue Konad and plate m54 for the flower stamp.

Dovima Matte with BM20

I’ve decided to try out my new matte polish.  The Zoya Dovima polish came out a charcoal grey color.  The application was easy and I love the color!  There was only one problem…because these are matte polishes I was not able to put a top coat on them…resulting in the polish rubbing off very easily. The 3 pictures below were taken on the second day and you can see a lot has been rubbed off.

On the third or fourth day…I don’t remember…I couldn’t stand how much of the polish had already rubbed off . I decided to do a little touch up with a Konad image and  placed a top coat to seal it off.  I loved the results!!  It was nice, glossy, and shimmery.  In some ways I like it shinny more than it being matte.

This one above was taken before the top coat.  I appoligze that I didn’t take time to do a clean up.

Pretty huh?  If I were to put it on a fresh coat of polish I’m sure it would have been prefect.

What I used:

  1. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Hardener for a Basecoat 1 coat
  2. Zoya Dovima Matte Polish 2 coat
  3. Konad Black Polish with plates BM20
  4. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Hardener for a topcoat 1 coat

I will try to to remember to take pictures right away and not wait until all the polish starts to chip or rub off next time.  :)

And just a reminder…I’ve recently added Google Friend Connect Gadget on my website.  Please be one of my followers.

My sister again had a great manicure.  Even though it’s been days and polish has already begun chipping…I still think the color and the white Konad stamps looks great on her.

Erica if you see this post please let us know what color/brand polish and plate you used.

I did my sister’s nails today.  Sorry, it’s a little messy.   Took the pictures before it was cleaned up.   No hand eye coordination either… =)  I got two new Savina nail polishes.  I think they’re a good deal at 3.97 a piece.  The bluish color is Morning Glory and the black is Midnight.  The pictures without flash show the color more accurately, but you can see the nails better with flash.

I alternated between the Morning Glory and Midnight.  I then used blue konad polish and stamped on top of the black nails.

The image used was on the Konad m69 plate.  I don’t have black konad polish so I used the Savina polish to stamp the Morning Glory nails and I think it worked pretty well.  Since it is dark, it shows up nicely.
