Another pedicure.  I’ve done this over a week ago and just now decided to take some pictures to post them up.  It’s a very simple and girly pedicure…I think…

These are the polishes I picked and steps I used:

Sally Hansen – Shall We Dance #160 (for the color)
OPI – Traffic-Stopper Cooper (for the shimmer)
Sally Hansen – Clear’d for takeoff #130 (to seal in everything)

Step one:  I wanted a neutral shade so I picked Sally Hansen – Shall we dance.  It’s a very nude pink shade.  Very pretty.  This polish is from the Complete Salon Manicure line.  So it comes with a very wide brush which makes application very easy.  I love polishes from that line.

Step two: Once the color coat dries I applied the OPI – Traffic-Stopper Cooper.  Just to add a little glitter, a little bling to my manicure.  I love the cooper color.  And it goes very nicely with the nude pink.  Since this polish comes with small and big glitter you do have to play around with the brush and polish to spread things around.

Step three:  Once the glitter coat dries apply the final clear coat to seal everything up.  Prefect!

Sorry about the tan lines. And as you can see this mani is old…my nails are beginning to grow out.  Well enjoy!  Hope you enjoy my post!

Most of you nail polish fans out there might already know this but there’s another new OPI collection coming out.  A Muppets-themed nail polish!  Now how cute is that.  I love the Muppets.  I grew up watching them….Ahh, brings back memories.  This collection should be out sometime in November.

New polishes (Silver Glitter & Crackle)

I’ve been trying to find a stamping polish to use with my Konad and Monster bundle nail plates.  Instead of buying the Konad special polishes…I want to find something I can easily pick up at my local drugstore or malls.  I’ve noticed other bloggers out there also use other brands but unfortunately I haven’t had luck finding the brands they purchased.

So this week I picked up this silver glitter polish (Wet n Wild -  236C Silvivor).  It looked very thick and I thought I might work with my plates.  Tried it but again it didn’t show up that well.  This bottle cost me $1.99 at Walgreens.

Also lately I’ve noticed a lot of new Crackle polishes out there.  They seem so cool so I got to give that a try too.  I purchased the OPI – Black Shatter for $9.50 at Ultra Beauty.  I have to say…this polish works great.  If you’re to lazy to use the stamping plates but still want to have some design this is the perfect way to go.  It’s fast and easy.

I’ve posted some pictures…Hope you like them.

These are all the polishes I used on my nails

Sally Hansen “Back to the Fuchsia” #530 used base color and Wet n Wild -  236C Silvivor used for the stamping color.  As you can see…the polish isn’t thick or dark enough so the stamping image is very light…But still pretty.

Wet n Wild -  236C Silvivor used here.  Two coats used.  Application is very smooth.  Color is very silver and glittery.  Very nice!!

Wet n Wild -  236C Silvivor used as the base color and than OPI – Black Shatter used on top.  Isn’t the crackle effect cute!  Very easy application on both.  After nail dried I did put a clear top coat because I was afraid the black polish might chip off easily.

Four different polishes and you can do so much with all of it.  So pretty and so much fun!  Hope you enjoy this post.

Stamping again.

I have been lazy and haven’t used stamps in a while.  I had a purple shirt so I decided to use a purple polish to match.  I used the Sephora by OPI in Domestic Goddess.  It was a little messy because the full nail plates are not big enough so I have to stamp multiple times to fill up the empty spaces.  I still don’t know why they can’t make the images larger.  There is room on the plate.

Late Holiday Cheer!

This one was from the ’10 holiday season.  I’ve used it several times but haven’t had a chance to take pictures for the post.  This is Sephora by OPI “Looks Like Rain, Dear” (don’t you like the puns?).  Its a gold nail polish with very fine gold glitter and also has larger flakes that reflects all colors as you can see pictured in the bottle below.  Most glitter nail polishes are mostly clear with just a little glitter, but this one is packed with glitter and has full coverage.  With just two coats, you get a solid gold color, not a few specks of randomly scattered pieces of glitter.  It reminds me of a glitter Christmas ornament.  The only thing I don’t really like about it is that the finish is rough, as you get with glitter polishes, but a top coat helps fix that a bit.  All in all, its a great fun polish.

It’s the first time I used this color on my whole nail.  I guess I’ve always been worried on how it would look on me.  I’m aways used to using light colors or pinks and reds.  And this green is just so different.  I tried it and I loved it!!

What I used:

  1. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Hardener for a Basecoat 1 coat
  2. OPI polish (Leaf Him at the Alter) 2 coats
  3. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Hardener for a topcoat 1 coat

The polish is very shimmery and it goes on very quickly and smoothly.  It dried pretty quickly too.  Just love it!

And in the background of these pictures you can tell I’m getting ready to eat my lunch.  It’s Korean Bibimbp.  It’s a rice bowl with assorted vegetables and meats.  YUMMY!

I bought the BundleMonster nail plates from Amazon.  This is the first time I used them.  They’re such a good deal.  21 plates for $17.99.  They work just as well as the Konad plates for a lot less.  The full nail images are smaller though, but there are six images on the plate instead of four.

What I used:

Plate: BM16
Polish: Sephora by OPI  “How cute is that?”
Stamp: Konad White

I picked this color out of my OPI Mini Nail Polish Set.  ”Iris I was Thinner” which is a creamy light purple color.

The first picture is how the nails really look.  The second one was photoshopped.  :)

To my suprise, the polish did not go on as smoothly as others in my OPI mini set.  I had to use three coats.  The color is very pretty but I have to say it’s annoying to put on, thick and gooey.

Konad on kids

Konad is great for kids too.  My 6 year old niece LOVED the manicure I had given her.  Since her nails were so small, it was quick to apply the nail polish and it dried quickly .

What I used:

  1. OPI “Handpicked for Me” (a very shimmery pink) for color
  2. Konad white polish with plates I purchased on Ebay (Flowers and a Hello Kitty – knockoffs of Konad ?  I don’t know but they come in Octagon shape plate)
  3. A final coat of Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Hardener for a top coat.

How cute huh? I guess we’ll be getting my niece her own Konad nail stamping kit for her birthday this summer. Anyone else try Konad on younger children? If so, I’d love to hear about it.

Shopped at Sephora again.  I was trying to find some eye cream by found this instead.  I couldn’t resist and got them.  I brought the OPI Mini Nail Polish Set!!   Aren’t they cute?  This set cost me $18 bucks.  I guess it’s on the pricey side huh?

I went home and tried the polishes right away.  There’s four polishes in this package.  From left to right, the colors are: Handpicked for Me, It’s a Bouquet for Me, Iris I was Thinner, and Leaf Him at the Alter.  The bottles are sooo small.

All polishes goes on very smoothly.  Also to my surprise it dries up pretty quickly too.  Maybe because I did thin coats?  Two coats of each color was used below.  Finally after testing all colors I went and did a simple mani with “Handpicked for Me”.  It’s so pink…so sparkly :)

Prefect spring colors!
